This week it's all about Mars, Venus + more 👀
Let’s all breathe a sigh of relief for making it through the whirlwind that was eclipse season, coupled with Mercury Retrograde!
Let’s all breathe a sigh of relief for making it through the whirlwind that was eclipse season, coupled with Mercury Retrograde
Metaphorical doors swung shut as others creaked open, all while communication wobbled. Mercury stationed direct last Thursday, which may have offered us some reprieve, but do keep in mind we are still in what’s called the ‘shadow period’, the two weeks after the retrograde where certain loose ends are still being tied.

Mars x Neptune in Pisces 🐟
Today marks a Mars Neptune conjunction in the sign of Pisces, creating a complex interplay of energies. Mars is the planet of action, assertion and drive; Neptune is all about nebulousness, spirituality and transcendence (this is even more intense given it’s happening in the watery sign of Pisces).
This can be a positive transit, with Mars giving us the spark we need to put our Neptunian desires into action. However, Neptune can have a tendency to distort reality so be sure to stay grounded as you pursue your passions (dreams do come true, you just need to be realistic). Your ability to stay grounded may be supported by the fact that this transit is ruled by Jupiter in Taurus, but elements of unpredictability linger with Uranus, the planet of rebellion and upheaval, also in Taurus!
Homecoming: Venus saunters into Taurus 🐂
Later today Venus moves from fiery Aries into cozy Taurus, the sign ruled by Venus herself. Venus in Taurus is about all things sensual and indulgent, as we look to enjoy the finer things in life. Think candlelit dinners and strolls through nature, coupled with a slice of chocolate cake (or two). Give yourself the pampering you deserve, but as your resident Capricorn I implore you not to overspend. Decadence is delightful but moderation is a must.
Mars blazes into Aries 🐏
The homecomings continue in the middle of the week, with our focus shifting back to Mars, as it moves out of Pisces and into its native fiery sign of Aries (I feel like there’s a joke to be made here about setting fire to the rain…). This will mark quite a shift in energy, as Pisces tends to infuse Mars with a more dreamy and imaginative tone, versus the assertion and directness of Aries.
You may feel more enthusiastic and prepared to face things head on, hopefully further supporting your ability to bring the ideas you dreamt up during the aforementioned Mars-Neptune conjunction into tangible form. With Mars transiting through Aries for the entirety of the month, feelings of courage, independence and initiative are likely. You may feel a desire to tackle new projects in the Aries part of your chart, particularly with the North Node lingering nearby. This is a welcome change from some of the energy we felt in mid-April, which left many of us struggling with a desire for change but being forced to maintain patience.
Going retrograde with Pluto ♇
Things get a little more intense at the end of the week as Pluto, the planet of transformation, stations retrograde.
On a broader societal scale this evokes themes of collective evolution, as we evaluate and innovate societal structures and technology. For some of us, this may be a new installment in a saga that’s been in play since late March 2023, in which you may have seen peaks during early May, June and October. I know for me personally, Pluto has been causing a stir for my living situation as it ping pongs over my fourth house ruler. This transit may trigger some shifting power dynamics, but ultimately any challenges brought forward are for your greater good.
✨✨✨
Looking toward the month ahead, May has a more optimistic flavour of dynamism and transformation, with opportunities for abundance and expansion. New beginnings may feature prominently, especially as we look toward the Taurus New Moon (more on this next week!)
